Leek is also known as chard or cabbage stalk. An old and classic variety with dark green foliage and white cardoons that is hardy. All parts, teasels and leaves are edible. Sow outdoors, 3 to 4 seeds 40 cm apart in rows 40 cm apart in a sunny position. Keep the soil fresh until emergence. When the plants have a few leaves, keep only the strongest ones in clumps. Water frequently. Water generously during the heat. Cut off the larger plants to encourage the growth of the smaller ones. Leeks together with onions give a better yield. Sow them in the shade to avoid seed formation. Sowing: April to May / July to August - Harvest: August to November - Traditionally reproducible seeds of agricultural vegetable varieties without hybrids or GMOs!
