  • Long-flowering from spring to late summer for long-lasting color.
  • Fiery red-orange flowers that stand out in prairie and borders.
  • Attractive to bees and butterflies and important for garden fauna.
  • Low maintenance and drought-tolerant after establishment.
  • Sturdy stem resistant to wind and ideal for cut flowers.
Kniphofia 'Papaya Popsicle'® Red Hot Poker is a striking perennial with tall, torch-like flower spikes in papaya-coral hues that rise above sword-shaped leaves. Its bold color and dramatic silhouette create an immediate garden focal point. Plant in sun for vibrant, long-lasting blooms that brighten borders and open spaces, with an architectural look that stays neat in the bed edges. A reliable, hardy choice for season-long impact, this Kniphofia adapts to varied soils and brings a warm, lively presence to any garden bed.

Care and Watering

Kniphofia 'Papaya Popsicle' thrives in well-drained soil; water deeply but infrequently, allow the top soil to dry between waterings, and avoid wet crowns in winter.

Location and Maintenance

Plant in full sun for best bloom; remove spent flowers and old leaves in spring, mulch lightly to conserve moisture, and divide every few years if the clump becomes crowded.

Tips

Use sandy soil or add grit, protect from frost in cold areas, feed lightly with a balanced fertilizer in spring, and ensure good air circulation to prevent disease.

Kniphofia 'Papaya Popsicle'® red hot poker gives gardens a tropical touch with bright papaya-orange flower spikes that add vertical red hot poker accents. As perennials and garden plants this kniphofia creates evocative contrasts between spring bloomers and summer bloomers, perfect for colorful prairie mixes and border plantings.
