Care and watering
Mentha rotundifolia ‘Variegata’ prefers evenly moist, well-drained soil. Water when the top inch dries, avoiding waterlogging. Mulch lightly to conserve moisture and trim back after flowering to maintain compact growth.
Maintenance
Regularly pinch to preserve the variegated look, prevent legginess, and promote bushy growth. Check for pests like aphids and wipe leaves if needed. Propagate by simple cuttings to refresh the plant.
Location
Place in a sunny to lightly shaded spot; morning sun with afternoon shade suits Variegata in hotter climates. Plant in a contained bed or container to control spread and keep the variegation vibrant.
Mentha rotundifolia ‘Variegata’ Variegated mint adds a fresh, graphic touch to gardens thanks to the variegated leaves with cream-colored margins. The strong contrast of leaf pattern provides a striking accent and softer color palettes.
In bloom, the plant is a charming addition to summer-bloomers and attracts butterflies and bees with fine nectar, adding movement and life to any green ensemble.
