Care

Rosa rugosa 'Rubra' thrives in sun and well-drained soil. Keep soil evenly moist and mulch in spring; prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and health.

Water

Water deeply during dry spells, avoiding wetting the foliage. Let the top soil dry slightly between watering to prevent rot.

Maintenance

Remove dead wood in late winter, tidy old canes, and apply a balanced rose fertilizer in spring. Check for pests and treat early.

Standplaats

Choose a sunny, wind-protected spot with good air circulation. Space 1.5–2 m apart; prefer loamy to sandy soil.

Tips

Mulch yearly, deadhead to encourage blooms, and watch for aphids. Attract pollinators with continuous flowering and fragrance.
