Thick-leaved stonecrop

Sedum pachyclados features decorative blue-green leaf rosettes that form dense cushions and remain attractive throughout the year. In early summer, numerous white to soft pink star-shaped flowers create a lovely contrast with the succulent foliage. This hardy stonecrop is perfect for rock gardens, alpine troughs, and sunny sites with excellent drainage.

Watering and Care

Sedum pachyclados prefers moderately dry conditions and requires minimal watering. During establishment, water lightly and consistently to encourage healthy root growth. Once mature, occasional watering during prolonged dry spells is sufficient. Excellent drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

Maintenance

This compact species is remarkably easy to maintain. Removing faded flowers can improve its appearance, but little additional care is required. Its naturally tidy growth habit allows it to remain attractive throughout the season.

Location

Plant in full sun with sharply drained soil. Sedum pachyclados performs particularly well in rock gardens, alpine plantings, raised beds, and decorative containers. The attractive blue-green foliage provides ornamental interest even when not in bloom.
