Stonecrop

Sedum selskianum develops sturdy clumps of fleshy, toothed foliage and is adorned with bright yellow flower clusters in late summer. This hardy perennial brings fresh colour to sunny borders, rock gardens, and gravel plantings. Its nectar-rich flowers attract numerous bees, butterflies, and many other beneficial pollinating insects.

Watering and Care

Sedum selskianum tolerates dry conditions well but benefits from occasional watering during extended drought. After planting, keep the soil slightly moist until roots are established. Once mature, the plant becomes relatively self-sufficient and requires only minimal attention.

Maintenance

This durable perennial is easy to care for. Removing spent flower heads can encourage a neater appearance and support healthy new growth. Dead stems may be cut back in early spring before fresh shoots emerge.

Location

Choose a sunny to partially shaded location with well-drained soil. Sedum selskianum works beautifully in mixed borders, naturalistic plantings, and rock gardens. Its bright yellow flowers provide a cheerful display during summer.

Tip

Plant it near pollinator-friendly species to create a vibrant habitat that attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Sedum selskianum brings summer lightness to flower beds, borders, and rock gardens with its small yellow blooms. Especially decorative when paired with purple or blue perennials for beautiful color combinations.
