Hens and chicks 'Feldmaier'

Sempervivum 'Feldmaier' produces compact rosettes of green foliage with striking reddish tips that become more intense throughout the year. The succulent leaves form dense cushions that provide lasting structure in sunny plantings. This hardy houseleek is ideal for rock gardens, green roofs, and containers, producing attractive pink flowers during summer.

Watering and Care

Sempervivum 'Feldmaier' stores moisture in its leaves and needs very little watering. Water moderately during establishment, then allow the plant to rely mainly on natural rainfall. Excessive moisture should always be avoided.

Maintenance

This easy-care variety requires almost no maintenance. Remove dead rosettes and spent flower stalks when necessary. New offsets continuously develop around the parent plant.

Location

Grow in full sun with poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil. It performs beautifully in alpine gardens, rockeries, and rooftop plantings.
