Acaena microphylla 'Dense Matte', also called spiny nut in dutch, is an evergreen perennial with a groundcover, creeping form. This plant has feather-shaped leaves, blue-green colored and with a serrated leaf edge. Acaena likes a position in full sun or partial shade and prefers a calcareous to neutral well-drained soil type. This plant is well hardy, requires little maintenance, is sea wind tolerant and is usually used as a ground cover or rock garden plant.
