Prairie dropseed 'Blue Fog'

Sporobolus heterolepis 'Blue Fog' impresses with narrow blue-green foliage and fine, fragrant flower panicles that float like a transparent veil above the plant in late summer. During autumn, the foliage turns beautiful shades of gold and bronze. This hardy ornamental grass is an excellent choice for prairie gardens, naturalistic landscapes, and sunny perennial borders.

Watering and Care

Sporobolus heterolepis 'Blue Fog' prefers moderately dry to fresh soil and becomes highly drought tolerant once established. Supplemental watering is generally only needed during prolonged dry spells.

Maintenance

This ornamental grass requires very little maintenance. Cut back old foliage in spring and allow the graceful clumps to develop naturally.

Location

Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. It is particularly effective in prairie-style gardens, gravel beds, and naturalistic landscapes.
