Sedum Robustum (= Ruby Glow) Ruby Glow Stonecrop is a compact creeper with fleshy leaves and bright, long-lasting blossoms that light up the garden perimeters.
A creeping stonecrop by nature, it thrives in sun and well-drained soil, spreading gently to form a low-growing mat.
Ideal for borders and rock gardens, this hardy succulent adds color and texture, pairing well with other sun-loving plants.
Care and Watering
Plant in well-drained soil with full sun. Water sparingly and let the soil dry between waterings; reduce watering in winter to prevent rot.
Maintenance
Trim spent blooms and remove dead leaves to maintain a neat, compact shape; divide every few years if it becomes crowded.
Location
Best in sunlit rock gardens, borders, or containers. Ensure good drainage and protection from prolonged frost pockets.
Tips
Use a gritty succulent mix, avoid overhead watering, and mulch lightly. Propagate easily from cuttings for new plants.
Stonecrop 'Robustum' (Ruby Glow) is a striking ornamental plant with deep red to pink leaves and a rich, long-lasting bloom that adds warmth and structure to the whole. The compact growth habit forms a colorful carpet that subtly changes hue through the season.
The nectar-rich flower heads attract butterflies and bees and provide a lively, natural accent; the intense play of leaf- and flower-color makes this sedum a beloved choice for summer and prairie experiences.
