A reliable haagplant choice from our hedging and woodland range, healthy and true to type for long-term establishment.

Care and Water

Water deeply when the soil dries to a depth of 2–3 cm, keeping the root zone evenly moist but not soggy. Mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds; feed each spring with a balanced rose fertilizer following the package directions.

Maintenance

Remove dead wood and spent blooms after flowering to boost new growth. Prune lightly to maintain shape and open centers; monitor for pests and diseases and treat promptly with approved products.

Location

Plant in full sun for best bloom and healthy growth. Ensure well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil; avoid heavy clay. Space plants for good air circulation to reduce mildew.

Tips

Sweet Briar thrives in warmth and sun. Regular mulching, annual pruning after flowering, and a slow-release fertilizer keep it vigorous and blooming beautifully.
