Care and Watering

Acorus calamus prefers damp, fertile soil; keep it evenly moist and water from below or with a shallow tray to mimic wetlands.

Maintenance

Trim dead fronds, divide clumps every 2–3 years, and feed lightly in spring with a balanced fertilizer.

Location and Setup

Grow in full sun to light shade; best in a bog garden, pond edge, or a very moist pot. Indoors, provide bright light and humidity.

Tips

Mulch to retain moisture, use non-chlorinated water, and keep roots cool with regular watering in heat.
