False lupin

Thermopsis lanceolata produces numerous bright yellow pea-like flowers in late spring, arranged in upright clusters above the blue-green foliage. The strong growth habit gives perennial borders a striking structure, while the flowers attract numerous bees. This hardy wild perennial is perfectly suited for sunny natural gardens and traditional borders.

Watering and Care

Thermopsis lanceolata performs best in a well-prepared garden soil that offers both good drainage and sufficient moisture retention. During dry spells, supplemental watering helps maintain strong growth and allows the plant to display its full ornamental value. Consistent moisture levels also support healthy foliage and reliable flowering.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance keeps the plant looking attractive throughout the season. Removing faded flowers, damaged leaves and older stems encourages fresh growth and helps maintain a tidy appearance.

Location

A suitable location with the right balance of light and space allows the plant to thrive. Well-aerated soil and good air circulation contribute to long-term health and vigor.
