Watering & Care

Water deeply during dry periods, keeping the soil evenly moist but not soggy. After flowering, reduce irrigation and protect from waterlogging in winter.

Maintenance

Remove spent blooms to encourage shape and rebloom; lightly prune after flowering to maintain a neat form, avoiding heavy cuts in late winter.

Standplaats

Plant in full sun to light shade on well-drained soil. Spiraea thunbergii tolerates sandy to loamy soils and resists wind with proper planting.

Tips

Mulch in spring, feed sparingly with a balanced fertilizer, and note that late frosts can affect early blooms.

Spiraea thunbergii Spierstruik 40-60 C offers a striking display of early spring flowers, transforming bare branches into clouds of delicate white blooms. Its graceful arching habit and fine-textured twigs create elegant movement and a soft silhouette in any planting scheme.
