Lemon thyme

Thymus citriodorus stands out with its fresh green, aromatic foliage that releases a pleasant lemon scent and forms dense, low-growing cushions. From June to August, numerous soft pink to light violet flowers appear and attract bees and other pollinators. This hardy perennial is excellent for herb gardens, rock gardens, wall tops, and sunny borders.

Watering and Care

Thymus citriodorus performs best in a well-prepared garden soil that offers both good drainage and sufficient moisture retention. During dry spells, supplemental watering helps maintain strong growth and allows the plant to display its full ornamental value. Consistent moisture levels also support healthy foliage and reliable flowering.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance keeps the plant looking attractive throughout the season. Removing faded flowers, damaged leaves and older stems encourages fresh growth and helps maintain a tidy appearance.

Location

A suitable location with the right balance of light and space allows the plant to thrive. Well-aerated soil and good air circulation contribute to long-term health and vigor.
