Red uncinia

Uncinia rubra creates exceptional colour contrasts in the garden with its narrow bronze-red to copper-coloured leaves. The elegant, slightly arching growth habit gives borders and containers a modern appearance. This decorative grass remains attractive for many months and creates beautiful combinations with green-leaved perennials.

Watering and Care

Uncinia rubra performs best in a well-prepared garden soil that offers both good drainage and sufficient moisture retention. During dry spells, supplemental watering helps maintain strong growth and allows the plant to display its full ornamental value. Consistent moisture levels also support healthy foliage and reliable flowering.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance keeps the plant looking attractive throughout the season. Removing faded flowers, damaged leaves and older stems encourages fresh growth and helps maintain a tidy appearance.

Location

A suitable location with the right balance of light and space allows the plant to thrive. Well-aerated soil and good air circulation contribute to long-term health and vigor.
