Large-flowered bellwort

Uvularia grandiflora decorates the garden in spring with large, bell-shaped bright yellow flowers that hang gracefully from elegantly curved stems. The fresh green foliage forms loose clumps and enhances the natural character of this woodland perennial. It is particularly suitable for partially shaded woodland edges and brings early-season colour to shady garden areas.

Watering and Care

Uvularia grandiflora performs best in a well-prepared garden soil that offers both good drainage and sufficient moisture retention. During dry spells, supplemental watering helps maintain strong growth and allows the plant to display its full ornamental value. Consistent moisture levels also support healthy foliage and reliable flowering.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance keeps the plant looking attractive throughout the season. Removing faded flowers, damaged leaves and older stems encourages fresh growth and helps maintain a tidy appearance.

Location

A suitable location with the right balance of light and space allows the plant to thrive. Well-aerated soil and good air circulation contribute to long-term health and vigor.
