Verbena bonariensis 'Vanity' grows more compactly than the species while maintaining elegant, loosely branched stems with violet-lilac flower clusters. The long flowering period from summer into autumn creates an airy effect in borders and prairie-style plantings. Butterflies, bees, and other pollinators are especially attracted to the nectar-rich flowers, giving this plant high ecological value.
Watering and Care
Verbena bonariensis 'Vanity' performs best in well-drained soil with regular watering during extended dry spells. Once established, it becomes more resilient but shows the strongest growth when moisture levels remain reasonably consistent.
Maintenance
Remove spent flowers regularly to keep the plant attractive and encourage a longer flowering season. Old stems can be cut back in early spring before new growth appears.
Location
A sunny position encourages abundant flowering and sturdy growth. Rich garden soil with good drainage provides ideal conditions.
