Culver’s root 'Cupid'

Veronicastrum virginicum 'Cupid' impresses with a more compact growth habit and delicate pink-violet flower spikes that appear in midsummer. The slender flower stems create an airy effect in borders and combine beautifully with ornamental grasses and other perennials. Numerous bees and butterflies visit the nectar-rich flowers during the long flowering period.

Watering and Care

Veronicastrum virginicum 'Cupid' performs best in well-drained garden soil that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, regular watering helps the plant remain healthy and encourages strong flowering. Once established, it becomes more resilient, but consistent care will always result in the most attractive growth.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and damaged foliage on a regular basis to keep the plant looking tidy. Cutting back old stems in spring encourages fresh new growth and helps maintain a neat habit.

Location

A position in full sun or light partial shade is ideal. Rich, loose soil with good drainage allows the plant to develop fully and produce abundant blooms.
