Lesser periwinkle 'Marie'

Vinca minor 'Marie' forms a dense, evergreen carpet of small, glossy leaves and produces numerous blue-violet flowers in spring. The compact growth habit makes it ideal for covering shady areas, planting beneath shrubs, or using as an easy-care ground cover. Thanks to its excellent winter hardiness, the plant remains attractive throughout the year and creates a permanent green cover.

Watering and Care

Vinca minor 'Marie' performs best in well-drained garden soil that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. During extended dry spells, regular watering helps the plant remain healthy and encourages strong flowering. Once established, it becomes more resilient, but consistent care will always result in the most attractive growth.

Maintenance

Remove faded flowers and damaged foliage on a regular basis to keep the plant looking tidy. Cutting back old stems in spring encourages fresh new growth and helps maintain a neat habit.

Location

A position in full sun or light partial shade is ideal. Rich, loose soil with good drainage allows the plant to develop fully and produce abundant blooms.
