This walnut tree grows reliably in temperate climates, offering steady vigor and a generous harvest when established. It pairs well with a variety of soils and sun exposure, delivering high-quality nuts when the season arrives.
Ideal for walnut lovers seeking a classic, versatile nut: perfect for fresh eating, baking, and cooking, with a distinct taste that elevates any dish. A timeless addition to your garden and pantry.
Care and Watering
Walnut Franquette thrives in deep, well-drained soil. Water deeply during dry spells, especially for young trees; avoid waterlogging and mulch to conserve moisture.
Maintenance
Prune lightly to maintain shape, remove dead branches, and thin crowded growth after harvest. Fertilize sparingly in spring with balanced nutrients.
Location and Tips
Choose a sunny, sheltered site with room for a wide-spreading crown. Protect from strong winds; plant away from foundations. Tip: stake young trees, use mulch, and monitor for pests.
The Juglans regia 'Franquette' is an elegant walnut (walnut kernel/walnut tree) that as a fruit tree adds both ornamental value and character. Thanks to its open crown and atmospheric bark, this tree forms a natural focal point in gardens and avenues. This grafted specimen is supplied as Bare Root, ideal for plant lovers who value quality and appearance.
