  • Intense fragrance from delicate winter blooms.
  • Bright winter flowers that enhance off-season garden interest.
  • Compact 30-40 cm habit ideal for borders and containers.
  • Easy-care, low maintenance shrub for busy gardeners.
  • Excellent pollinator food in late winter and early spring.
Chimonanthus praecox Meloenboompje 30-40 C is a charming winter-flowering shrub with a compact, upright habit. Fragrant waxy blooms appear on bare stems, offering a fragrant surprise in colder months. Originating from East Asia, this hardy shrub develops glossy leaves and creamy-yellow flowers with purple centers. Its neat form suits small gardens and borders. Delivered as a healthy 30-40 cm specimen, it’s an attractive, long-lived addition to any shrub collection.

Watering

Keep Wintersweet evenly moist during the growing season, but never waterlogged. Water at ground level and mulch to reduce evaporation. In winter, water only if the soil dries out.

Onderhoud

Prune lightly after flowering to shape and remove dead wood. Feed in spring with a balanced fertilizer; avoid heavy pruning that reduces fragrance.

Standplaats

Choose a sunny to lightly shaded, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. Protect from strong winds and cold exposure.

Tips

Apply organic mulch annually and plant near walkways to enjoy its scent; avoid disturbing the roots during heavy frost.

Chimonanthus praecox - Meloenboompje 30-40 C toont in de winter delicate, wasachtige bloemen met een verrassende, zoete geur.
